How to block SBI ATM Card online & offline

If you have lost your SBI ATM Card or if it is stolen, the first thing you should do is to urgently block your card. You should block your ATM Card to prevent loss due to unauthorized and fraudulent transactions done by anyone using your ATM Card. It is important to know how to block SBI ATM Card online/offline so that you can block the card right away when it is lost or stolen.

  1. How to block SBI ATM Card using Internet-Banking
    I am going to list out the step involved in blocking your SBI ATM Card through net-banking. You need to have the Internet-Banking for your account activated with the username & password to login to the net-banking portal. Now, let’s figure out the steps:

Open your Internet Browser and type in the url
You have to log in to the SBI Net-Banking Portal using your Username and Password.
You will find “e-Services” on the menu. Click on it.
Select the “ATM Card Services” section in the e-Services category
You have to select the “Block ATM Card” from the options provided in the ATM Card Services.
Select the “Account Number” to block from the available options.
After selecting the “Account Number”, you will be able to see the list of active & blocked cards in your Net-Banking window. You have to select the ATM Card that you want to block. You will also be asked to provide the reason & remarks for blocking the ATM Card. After entering the required details, click the “Submit” button.
The next window will require you to authenticate the block transaction using OTP or using Profile Password. Click on the preferred choice and complete the verification process.
After verification, click on the “Confirm” button.
You will receive a message on your registered mobile number with Ticket Number confirming that your ATM Card is blocked.

  1. How to block SBI ATM Card using SBI Anywhere App
    What if you are traveling and your lose your ATM Card? The best option you have to block the SBI ATM Card at such time is to use the mobile App of the SBI – SBI Anywhere App. Let’s see how we can block the ATM Card using SBI Anywhere App. To explain this process, I am assuming that you already have the App on your mobile phone.

Open the SBI Anywhere App in your phone.
Log in to the App using valid credentials.
Select the “Services” icon from the App screen.
In the “Services” section, tap on “Debit-Card Hotlisting”
You have to select the “Account Number”.
After selecting the Account Number, you have to select the reason to block the account number. Choose any one from the two options – 1. Lost and 2. Stolen.
Once you select the reason, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP as required and tap on the “Submit” button.
You will receive a message on your registered mobile number with Ticket Number confirming that your ATM Card is blocked.

  1. Using SBI Customer Care Helpline
    To use the SBI Customer Care helpline to block your ATM Card, you have to follow the steps below:

Call on the SBI Customer Care Helpline Toll-free No. 1800 11 2211 & 1800 425 3800 which you can access from any landline or mobile phone.
Follow the IVR response and keep selecting the right options.
You might have to enter the ATM Card details and PIN Number on IVR to verify the authenticity of your request. Do not share the ATM Card PIN Number with the Customer Care Representative.
If there is any doubt, you can choose to speak to the Customer Care Representative on phone.
You will be able to block the card following the instructions on the phone.

  1. How to block SBI ATM Card using SMS
    Please follow the below process to block your SBI ATM Card through SMS.

Send the text message BLOCK XXXX to 567676 (Replace XXXX with the last 4 digits of your ATM Card) from your REGISTERED mobile number. If you send the SMS from unregistered mobile number, your ATM Card will not be blocked.
You will receive a reply with a confirmation message that your ATM Card is blocked.
