You have to follow the process given below to port your mobile number from Vodafone to BSNL:
Step 1: Open your SMS App on your phone.
Step 2: Send an SMS with text “PORT <10-digit Vodafone Mobile Number>” to 1900. For example, if your Vodafone Mobile Number is 1234567890, send an SMS with text “PORT 1234567890” to 1900.
Step 3: You will receive a message mentioning the Unique Porting Code (UPC) based on which your number will be ported to BSNL.
Step 4: You have to visit the CSC or Authorized Retailer of BSNL. You have to provide them the Unique Porting Code along with your Proof of Identity and Proof of Address to process your Porting Request.
Step 5: After submitting the Unique Porting Code, required Application Form and other documents, it will take around 3-10 days for activation of your new BSNL SIM.
