How to change JioFi Password

Many JioFi users have queried about how to change JioFi Password of their JioFi device. For those who don’t know, JioFi is a portable broadband device offered by Reliance Digital. With JioFi device, you can avail Jio 4G Services like High-Speed Internet, Calling, Video-Calling and Messaging. You can use the device as a Wi-Fi Hotspot and can connect minimum 10 devices like Mobile Phones, Tablets, Laptops and Smart TVs depending on the model of the JioFi device. You can also use it as a USB connection on any one device.

Now, let’s find out how to change JioFi password in your device.

Changing the JioFi Password
Before you begin the process of changing the JioFi password, you have to connect any of your device (smartphone, tablet, laptop or smart TV) to the JioFi device using your existing password. The following steps will help you understand the process:

  1. Switch on your JioFi Device
    Start with switching on your JioFi device. Also remember to keep the WiFi Network Name and its password handy. If you are unable to find the existing password and have never changed the password in the past, you can find default WiFi Network Name and its password on the back-side of the package(box) of JioFi device or you can find it under the battery of the device.
  2. Connect any of your device with JioFi
    You will have to connect any of your device (preferably smartphone, tablet or laptop) using the existing JioFi password.
  3. Logging into the JioFi Admin Interface
    So, you have connected your device to the JioFi Wi-Fi. Now, you will have to login to the JioFi Admin Interface. To log in to the JioFi Admin Interface, please open your browser and type either of the two URLs given below:

http://jiofi.local.html

OR

http://192.168.225.1

After typing the URL, please click ENTER and the browser will take you to the JioFi Admin Interface Login page. You have to enter the Login & Password for the JioFi Admin Interface. The default login & password is as under:

Default JioFi Interface Login: administrator

Default JioFi Interface Password: administrator

After logging into the JioFi Admin Interface, you will see a window prompting you to change the password of the Admin Interface. You can change the password if you wish to.

  1. Change the WiFi Password
    After logging in to the JioFi Admin Interface, you will have to click on the “Settings” tab on the top menu in the Admin Interface and select “WiFi” from the menu on the Left Side. Once you select WiFi, you will have the options to change the SSID (WiFi Network Name) and the Security Key for your JioFi device. Please input the name of the JioFi device or any other name as per your liking in the SSID field and input the new password which you want in the Security Key field and save the form.

That’s it. Your password is changed.
