What is Duplicate Voter ID Card?
If you have a Voter ID Card and you have lost/damaged it, you will have to get a new Voter ID Card issued. The new Voter ID Card which will be issued to you is called a Duplicate Voter ID Card. The Duplicate Voter ID Card is basically a replacement Voter ID Card in case your old Voter ID Card becomes unusable for any valid reason.
Can I download my Duplicate Voter ID Card online?
You cannot download your voter ID Card – neither your original Voter ID Card nor your duplicate Voter ID Card. You can verify your Voter ID Card by entering your EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card) Number on https://electoralsearch.in website.
Who can apply for Duplicate Voter ID Card?
I will share the process of applying for duplicate Voter ID Card here in detail. But, before applying for duplicate Voter ID Card, you have to know who can apply for Duplicate Voter ID Card. The following persons are eligible to apply for duplicate Voter ID Card:
The persons who have lost their Voter ID Card
The persons whose Voter ID Card is stolen.
The persons whose Voter ID Card is damaged and unusable.
Now, in case of lost / stolen Voter ID Cards, it is mandatory for the person to file an FIR at the nearest Police Station. The copy of the FIR will be required to be presented while applying for the duplicate Voter ID Card.
How to get Duplicate Voter ID Card?
The step-by-step process of applying for Duplicate Voter ID Card is explained below:
Step 1: Download the Form No. EPIC 002 (Application for Issue of Duplicate Elector’s Photo Identity Card) below.

Step 2: Fill up the Form with all required details.
Step 3: Attach the required documents (Proof of Identity & Proof of Address)
Step 4: Attach the old Voter ID Card (if torn/mutilated/damaged)
Step 5: Attach the copy of FIR for lost/stolen Voter ID Card (if applicable)
Step 6: Submit the EPIC 002 Form along with attached documents to your nearest Electoral Office.
Step 7: Remember to collect the Reference Number against your application. If you don’t receive the Duplicate Voter ID Card after few days, you can contact the nearest Electoral Office to check the status of your application citing the Reference Number.
